BRONTE'S Concept
Bronte and many of her 4th grade friends at Beverly Vista School, are handmaking and selling Rainbow Loom Bracelets to raise money for children displaced by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
Each bracelet is woven together using the colors of the Philippine flag, some with peace, love, hope charms attached.
Bracelets are being sold for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00
BRONTE'S GOAL IS TO RAISE $1,000 usd
ALL PROCEEDS are going directly to the same NGO Bronte worked with in 2012, when she collected more than 5,000 toys after Typhoon Sendong. Jerry and his team are on the ground in Tacloban identifying and protecting children against abuse and kidnapping, which is too often so prevalent after a calamity in poverty stricken regions.

Bronte's Bracelets for sale at Beverly Vista School.
Stop by to pick up a bracelet or two and help the kids reach their goal.

If you'd like to help by making your own bracelets for Bronte and her friends to sell, we will gratefully accept them - just remember to use the Philippine colors - red, white, blue and yellow. Most popular styles seem to be FISHTAIL and STARBURSTS.

Just 4 hours of selling bracelets over 2 days and already the kids have raised more than $400.
It's such fun to see children drawn to the table and even more of a thrill to see them become excited about supporting the cause and owning one of their very own handmade bracelets (necklaces and rings now too).
Huge thanks to all the parents who so willingly enable their children to learn about giving back.
Here's Georgia, Bronte & Leia rallying support, even with the sinking sun in their eyes.
day 3
The kids set up this morning in the rain, thinking they'd be little interest.
However the cloudy skies did not seem to dampen the spirits. Some of these school kids just keep coming back every day to buy another item, some even risking tardy slips.
This afternoon will be their first experience selling the banded jewelry to middle schoolers.
Now they have a range:
Rings for $1, Regular Bracelets for $3, Charm Bracelets for $4, Complex Designs for $5 and One of a kind Necklaces for $10.

day 4
Pictured here: Samantha, Bronte, Leia, Isabela & Audrey. What a keenly enthusiastic bunch of kids, always itching to assist with rallying, yelling and selling.
This morning, was their last day to raise money at school, so we'll be moving the project online. Adding this morning's effort, the kids have raised $502 - 50% of the $1,000 goal.
Hopefully by Thanksgiving, we'll have surpassed $1,000 and can have it in the hands of Jerry and his team in Tacloban taking care of displaced and orphaned children.
Thanks to everybody at BV for the generous assistance all week.
